Every once in a while you hear a singer whose voice comes out of the air and commands your attention. Larry Fuller is that kind of singer with that kind of voice. Larry has recorded twenty one Cd,s and been charming audiences throughout Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio Southern Indiana, and Southwest Virginia with his fine singing for the past Thirty-five years.
Born in the little town of Phelps in Pike County, Kentucky, Larry followed his dad and grandpa into the Eastern Kentucky coal mines, For seventeen years he worked in the mines during the week and performed with his band on weekends. Then in 1986 Larry was injured in a mining accident and was unable to return to the mines. By preventing him from ever working in the mines again the accident was financial calamity for Larry as well. Six years later he was finally able to resume performing the Bluegrass and Gospel music he loved so much, literally starting over from scratch without the steady income that mining had provided.
In addition to recording and performing Bluegrass music, Larry has worked in radio, first at WSKV Staton, KY for over two years and then at WCYO in Irvine, KY where he hosted the Sunday evening Bluegrass and Gospel music show. Writing, performing and playing Bluegrass and Gospel music are Larry's full time endeavors. His love of the music clealy shines through all that he does.
